Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton
For over 60 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton has offered kids a safe place to learn and have FUN! Now more than ever, families and community partners play a critical role in shaping the lives of America’s young people. This is where the Club is uniquely positioned to make a significant difference. We have access to the kids who need us most, and the enrichment programs that will help youth develop positive outcomes and achieve great futures through: education, healthy lifestyles, and leadership opportunities. Our Fundamental Campaign “Stand Up for Kids”, runs year-round to help balance the cost to run our programs and services. Individual giving is the driving force behind our ability to support the 2,500+ kids who pass through our doors annually. It just takes one donation to make a difference.

“The Boys & Girls Club allows kids to experience many different things, exposes them to other kids and mentors who open up a whole new world to them; that’s what’s so great about the Boys & Girls Club.”
Some Words from Parents
“The benefits of the Boys & Girls club are numerous! To name a few I’m going to start with the benefits of my kids being able to walk from their school to the Club, since I am not able to pick them up. I feel safe that my kids are safe at the Club that helps them with homework as well as the time they get to spend in the art or playing games with Staff. The Club has really helped my kids out and motivates them to do better in school. The staff observes each child to recognize their talents. I want to thank each and every one of the staff for their time and kind support in caring for our kids. I appreciate it every day because without the Boys & Girls Club it would be really hard for us as single parents to deal with it.”
““The Club benefits my child in the following ways: Peer support, self-image, respect, tutoring and group participation. My child has attended the Club for 5 years and I believe the Club supports learning and educational achievement. My daughter has learned to stand up for herself in a respectful way and teaches that to her peers. The Club provides valuable support with homework and follows the teachers lead in technique. I have seen my child grow throughout the years. Each year I suspect she’ll no longer want to attend the Club as she matures however she loves going and continues to enjoy the Club.”
“There are not enough words to express how important you all are and how much we appreciate you…you all truly are our extended family, the boys and I love you! My boys call the Richman Teen Center their second home and the staff their extended family. The Teen Center is a safe environment where they can hang out with friends, work on homework and/or play sports. The boys are active in the many programs offered at the Teen Center and around the community which allows them to explore their interests and find hidden talents. As a single mom, I have peace of mind knowing they are safe and surrounded by good people while I am at work. The best decision I ever made was enrolling my boys into the Club.”

EVERY KID DESERVES A GREAT FUTURE!
For over 60 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton has offered our youth a safe place to be during after-school hours coupled with programs that enhance their educational, civic, leadership and arts abilities. Our Fundamental Campaign “Stand Up for Kids”runs year-round to help balance the cost to run our programs and services. Individual giving is the driving force behind our ability to support the 1,500+ kids who pass through our doors. It just takes one donation to make a difference.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton were founded in 1952, and is a private, non-profit organization affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of America. Established in 1952 when a group of concerned citizens saw the need for more positive youth activities in the City of Fullerton, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton (BGCF) has been providing a safe, positive place for thousands of youth in the city for over 63 years. BGCF is part of a nationwide affiliation of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America that guides local autonomous organizations that work to help young people of all backgrounds develop the qualities they need to become responsible citizens and leaders.
Today, the BGCF has 4 Club locations in Fullerton, and provides youth services to approximately 1,200 members, ages 6 through 18, and serves over 1,800 youth through community outreach. Our Club sites are located within neighborhoods that are densely populated, some of which have low income families and high gang/crime activity. This past year we counted over 3,000 individual youth members served –the majority of who are ethnic minorities whose families live on household incomes of less than $25,000 per year and are from single parent or English as Second Language (ESL) families.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton provide after-school enrichment programs for children in some of the most troubled neighborhoods in our city, five days a week, year round during the critical after-school hours of 2:30-6:30pm. Juvenile crime triples between these hours as represented by a higher incidents of teens committing crimes, innocent children becoming crime victims, teen sex, and kids participating in illegal tobacco, drug, and alcohol use.Our youth want more regular contact with caring adults who care about and respect them, more opportunities to contribute to their communities, protection from the hazards of drugs, violence, and gangs. These kids need and deserve greater access to constructive and attractive educational and enrichment alternatives.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton provides meaningful and helpful experiences for our youth to help them learn and use new skills, meet interesting peers, and encounter caring adult role models who can help them thrive in their communities, in school, and in the world.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton has a long history of collaborating with the Fullerton school districts, Cal State Fullerton, Fullerton Community College, Fullerton Rotary and other community business partners. This collaborative effort allows us to work together in helping our community’s youth develop increased competency in all subject areas, especially math, literacy, and technology. Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fullerton as we look forward to many more years of positive impact within our community.
